Lucille H Perkinson, 92, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on October 10, 2017.  Visitation will be held at noon on Monday, October 16, 2017, at First Baptist Church, Carrollton, where she was a long-time member. The service will follow at 1 PM.  Mrs. Perkinson will be laid to rest beside her husband of 71 years, Forrest Perkinson, at Memorial Gardens in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Perkinson was born on March 27, 1925, in LaGrange, Kentucky, one of seven children.  She married Forrest F. Perkinson on November 16, 1944, and they had two children, Carolyn S. Barnett (Jim) and Steven R. Perkinson (Kathy).   Mrs. Perkinson had four grandchildren, Lindsay DeWald (David), Jamie Sousa (Tim), Kara Perkinson, Lauren Lewellan (Matt), and seven great grandchildren, Carson, Caroline, and Emersyn DeWald; Sydney and Camryn Sousa; and Layne and Jaxon Lewallan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Perkinson, her parents, Ollie and Lorena Hammond, and her siblings, Lillie Simons, Pauline Porter, Dorothy Tippett, Marvin Hammond, Ed Hammond, and Marshall Hammond.

Mrs. Perkinson moved from Louisville to Carrollton in 1960, where she operated a beauty salon, Fashion Tress, for ten years, then worked in her husband’s business until retirement. For the past two years, she resided in Fishers, IN, where she could be close to her son and granddaughters.  Mrs. Perkinson was a people person and had many friends whom she enjoyed.  She will be missed.

    You have my sympathy. Your mother was a lovely person. She was pleasant for the many years I would see her at family gatherings. She was my first cousin. I know you will miss her. My prayers are with you and your families.
